| News New Arrangements One of our goals has been to make Swing Street the best mid-sized swing band in North Carolina. But we also know that audiences like to dance to other kinds of music as well, so we've always tried to make sure that the book had enough variety to assure that everyone would have something to dance to. In an effort to make Swing Street the best band possible, over the past several months, we have made a concerted effort to add as many new arrangements as possible to the Swing Street library. This effort concluded in November with the addition of six new Christmas charts. Among them was a really swingin' version of Jolly Old St. Nicholas that dance crowds absolutely loved; and a stunning jazz arrangement of Silent Night that was, at the same time, both very beautiful but very danceable. Also added to the book were more than four dozen other charts that range from old standards to rock 'n roll. Some of my favorite examples from the list of new arrangements include One O'Clock Jump, Quando Quando, Old Time Rock and Roll, Vehicle, Doc Severinson's version of In The Mood, and many more. For a complete song list of the band, email us and we'll send you a current PDF list. |
