Dean Olah - Trombone

Dean Olah studied trombone performance and music education under scholarship at the University of Toledo where he completed his BA and graduate work. He completed a Masters Degree in School Administration with distinction from Campbell University and is pursuing his EDD in Technology Education at NC State University. During the summers Dean has worked as a counselor and orchestral musician at the Brevard Music Center.

Dean has performed with symphonies in Raleigh, Durham, Fayetteville, Toledo, Ann Arbor, Adrian, Sandusky, and Perrysburg and in shows with the Toledo Theater, the Croswell Opera House, the North Carolina Theatre, the North Carolina Opera and the Cape Fear regional Theatre.

As a jazz trombonist Dean has recorded and performed with Clay Aiken, Lorna Luft, Branford Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, Doc Severinsen, Robert Goulet, Victor Borge, Itsak Perlman, the Raleigh Jazz Orchestra, the Toledo Jazz Orchestra, the Jack Runyan Big Band, the Johnny Knorr Orchestra, the Casablanca Jazz Orchestra, the Andrew Thielen Big Band, the Lawrence Welk Show, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Gene Krupa Big Band. He is a founding member of the Academy Brass Quintet which continues to entertain audiences throughout Ohio and is the founder of the North Carolina Brass Quintet.

Dean is proudly employed as the Computing Networking Chair for the ITT Technical Institute in Morrisville, NC. He also works extensively providing classical brass and string ensembles for events. (See www.olahs.com)
